Christophe,
Again thank you for the extra info provided. I'm PMing you the link to that Russian site where I apparently there is a new edition available. Hope you can read Russian and confirm if indeed it's a 1 volume edition. Best, Dolf |

Dolf,
I can't confirm it is a 1 volume edition, as it is not specified in this link (no precise details in fact). An internaut asked the question about this. I don't know whether he will get an answer or not... Let's see !! The asked price is 4200 RR, the equivalent of 120-125 Euros. Cheers. Ch. |

Gentlemen,
I received my two volumes early this week and despite the poor quality pics and the relatively poor english translation (the only two negative aspects I can find on these books so far) this is imho an outstanding reference book! It contains a large amount of useful and important information not provided in PMD's Guide, such as a very interesting Statistical part (listing just as an example the names of people awarded 7 times with the Order of the Red Banner, etc), a Chronology of dates (by years) and the S/Ns of the Awards issued, Tables with the weight of each of the precious metals (Gold, Silver, Platinium, etc) that an Order is made of, but also the total weight and size of each Award, among other things... really impressive! Personnaly I don't include the fact it doesn't list the Awards Statutes in the negative aspects, because as mentioned by the authors this information can be found in other publications, and because I do have PMD's Guide. So I'm really 100% satisfied with my purchase and have to consider it highly recommended for any serious Soviet Awards collector! Just my two cents, Dolf |
