Short description of personal combat feat or accomplishment
Tank Platoon Leader Lieutenant Emelyanov displayed fortitude and bravery in combat with the German invaders from 15-20.4.45 during the penetration of the well-prepared defensive belts near Steuberwiz, Koberzhitse, Svoboda, N. Avur, and Kravarzhe. Disregarding fear and danger, his tank was among the first to rush into the village of Kravarzhe, captured a crossing, and held it until the arrival of our infantry. When the enemy counterattacked three times our fighting formations, he personally positioned the infantry thus that the enemy could not capture the crossing. During the fighting Comrade Emelyanov destroyed one enemy tank, two armored personnel carriers, four cannons, six machinegun positions, and as many as 40 soldiers and officers. Lieutenant Emelyanov is deserving of the Order of the Red Banner.
