Commander of a section, 9th Rifle Company, Guards Sergeant Pushkarenko, Serafim Artemovich.
In battle whilst crossing the River Rába and capture of the villages of Chechen' and Kóny (Hungary), under heavy enemy mortar fire with his section landed on the opposite bank and bypassed the village of Chechen' from the left flank starting a fight with the enemy as a result of which, the section of Comrade Pushkarenko destroyed up to 18 enemy soldiers and 39 took into captivity. Personally Comrade Pushkarenko destroyed 4 enemy soldiers and 8 took into captivity.
