Just got confirmed that in Feb I'll be driving to Poznan for work for a couple of days and as I'll be going the weekend before and via Berlin, it won't be too difficult for me to drop by the site you mentioned.

Bob, Tony LeTissier included a chapter about this fight in his book With our Backs to Berlin. The battle centered around a castle which I believe has subsequently been destroyed. I wanted to capture the village's view over the valley (ideal for Germans to call artillery) and/or a picture from the valley looking up to show what the Soviets had to fight up. Of course, anything else interesting "on site" I'll leave up to you. Thanks in advance.

I've got a bunch (couple dozen) of WW2 Soviet photos taken in vicinity of the Teltov Canal, the Nome Canal and Sosin, Germany, but I can't for the life of me figure out where in the vicinity of Berlin they were taken from. If they're in the vicinity of what you're looking for, I'd be happy to send scans of them.

Hi Bob,

Since you are driving, may I suggest taking a detour through Seelow; and see the Russian Museum there, which is not very far off at all. From there drive eastward on B1 and cross into Poland at the border crossing at Kostrzyn; which is a whole lot less traffic than A12.
