The caps of that type is absolutely normal, after the war beginns, every stuff officer from URAL and Siberia want's to have one like a "Front" fashion, this one is from that opera. Nice tailored quality...

Here is one of these caps, ex-Red Army, used by a Kalmuk volunteer in the German forces (center).
