Partisans

Was it common for partisans to have code names to use in lieu of their own real names?

Thanks,

N

Re: Partisans

Most of the partisans I have heard of (Polish and Soviet, I mean) had some pseudonyms. Sometimes unusual and someimes being just the guy's first name.

.
That's funny, I knew a girlfriend by the same name.

Now I need someone to chime in about how that's not funny, she died gloriously in battle the following day.

short red bush

That's my mother you're talking about there...and she died in battle the next day, too.

Re: Partisans

Hmmmmmmmm, the above two appear to be conducting some kind of Secret Agent talk. How does one respond to the code:

1. The weather in Moscow is pleasant and warm.
2. Rosebud
3. The popcorn is popping.
4. The Aussie has landed.
5. The Pavlo has landed.

:D

Perhaps you could respond to number 4 by saying "you better chuck another koala steak on the barbie mate"

Brendan;)

Re: Partisans

...and don't get grabbed by your short red hairs (maybe similar to those referenced in land surveying with the time honored term "RCH" that denotes a very fine measurement of distance?) lest you lose those two birds in the bush or the one in your hand if sitting alone, or have you landed that bird yet?
