So I don't purchase another order book with fake entries....can you tie the order booklet to one of the men in the list? Opinions also invited on booklet

It may be none of them. All 4 of those awards most likely will be for long service.

Medal "For Combat Merits" for 10, Red Star for 15, Red Banner for 20 and Lenin for 25. Unlikely all 4 awarded between 1944 and 1946 but not impossible.

A quick scan of "Echoes Of War" - Paul Schmitt suggests dates ranging from 1945 - 56. Like you say....probably a LS awardee. Thanks for replying :thumbsup

Order Book (#Zh656549) dated April 26th, 1971 issued to Nikolay Petrovich Yemelyankov for the Gold Medal of the Hammer & Sickle (#17540) and the Order of Lenin (#409431), March 30th, 1971, awarded to workers, engineers, and employees of the metallurgy, mining, gas & oil industries of the USSR.

Order Book (#Zh640789) dated April 8th, 1971 for the Order of Lenin (#391153) and the Badge of Honor (#990704) issued to Anna Fedorovna Svir on April 8th, 1971 & December 8th, 1973, respectively.

There are no less than three (3) entries for the name Хомченко Василий Яковлевич, the first born 1920, a Guards Lieutenant in the 144th Guards Rifle Regiment, the second born 1921, a Sergeant who previously had been awarded a Combat Service Medal (1943) and a Bravery Medal (1944), so a less likely contender, and the third born 1923, a Sergeant/Guards Sergeant. Here are each of the three citations from the archive.

The first is dated April 17th, 1945, a most likely contender, the second dated June 19th, 1944, and the third dated July 14th, 1948, which may drop him from contention. The number shown in your Order Book, 1484640, places his awarding most likely spring, 1945, in my opinion.

It is the first one. Awarded 20th April 1945. The booklet puts the award date to April 1945 (Benefits start the first day of the next month).

His Medal "For The Capture Of Budapest" and Victory are also listed.
