Re: Restored red banner of labor

I am not supporter of repairing orders, and all the more so with this barbarian method.

Hello folks.. I have never posted on this part of this forum before.

I wanted to see if there are any Soviet Medal Aficionados out there. I have some that I am trying to figure out.....

Order of Red Banner of Labor
Serial # 47,847

Seems very early to me.. Type 3 Variant.. Perhaps 1945

I saw on a website this was advertised for sale for $225. Are they really worth that much?

Thank you,
Scott

Yours was produced in September 1945, after the war. Asking price is of course something different than value, but these early ORBLs are quite scarce. I think they're worth about $150-200.

Red Banner of Labor

And here it is! My first flatback.
I checked around I thought it was good 'un and you all did too. Spent a lot of my medal budget on this (and a couple other items from the same seller) but I'm quite happy.
So thanks for your help, ladies and gentlemen, especially you, birthday boy :thumbsup
PS. nice two piece suspension as well.

Re: Red Banner Of Labour.

Hello,

have you ever seen such strange rivets ? Is this common or some sort of customizing, a rare variation, etc. ?

Thank you !

Re: Red Banner Of Labour.

Uncommon version made by Russkie Samotsvety (Russian Gemstones Factory), award has very distinctive cone-shaped rivets. The factory produced only three relatively small series of Red Banners of Labor in late 1970 -1971.

best regards
Andreas

Is there any observed coherent serial number range?

Re: Red Banner Of Labour.

Order "Red Banner Of Labour" #889761 Type 6 Variation 1.

The enamelling on the banner is outstanding.
