Gents,
A nice image of S. I. Vorotnikov. Note the three classes of Miner's Glory on his right breast. Regards, slava1stclass |

Re: HSL/Full Cavalier of the Order of Miner's Glory
Oh yeah! I like this a lot. Hard workin' vet of years of probably less then optimal conditions. Love the OMG set, and the two VDNkH (?) medals as well.
Any idea what's the set below the OMG?

Re: A String of Fors
Cool picture. It brings up a question I've had for a while: if someone won more than one of the same time medal, which was supposed to go first in line assuming they both have serial numbers or other distinguishing features? Should one where them in order of awarding - 1, 2, 3, etc., the reverse from newest to oldest, or did anybody care so long as there weren't numbers for all to see like on multiple ORBs?

Re: A String of Fors
This is just a guess, but maybe they used the serial numbers to establish the precedence.

NKVD/MGB Illegal Resident Agent - Col Galina Ivanovna Fedorova (Cover Name: Markina)
Gents,
Not the best image, but an interesting story behind it. Born in 1920. Began her career with State Security in January 1939. During the GPW, she worked in the NKVD's 4th Chief/Main Directorate where she prepared/trained operatives for work behind the German lines. In 1946, she completed a two-year course of foreign language instruction at the MGB's Upper-level School and was then assigned to foreign intelligence work in a West European country along with her husband - fellow illegal resident agent M. V. Fedorov. Decorated with the Order of the Patriotic War, Order of the Red Star, various medals as well as the badges "Honorary Worker of State Security" and "For Service in Intelligence." Passed away on May 26th, 2010. Regards, slava1stclass |

Re: NKVD/MGB Illegal Resident Agent - Col Galina Ivanovna Fedorova (Cover Name: Mark
I'd love to see better photos. There are very few women who were given the chance in Soviet intelligence services to do something worthy of those badges, much less actually receive the awards. It wasn't like James Bond movies, women were seldom hired or enlisted/recruited other than in menial, low level positions. Women were mostly used for sexual blackmailing purposes.
This is a rare situation. Phillip

Re: A String of Fors
There is the difficulty of being embedded in the chest to upset the order of precedence.

Where's the Beef? HSL P. A. "Masha" Angelina Will Show You...
Gents,
Nothing, I mean absolutely nothing, gets between Masha and her tractor. Awarded her HSL for her career in, you guessed it, the agricultural sector. Regards, slava1stclass |
