Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star
I really appreciate these positive opinions, but I would like to offer better pictures since the one I posted were taken with to little light and revived with too much photoshop (weather was horrible in the past days where I live). I hope that the new images will allow confirmation of your assessment. ORS 900k has a replaced stud (this was declared by the seller) which is thinner than normal and does not engage the screwplate thread.
It must be said that a Combat Service medal was included in the lot, and it definitely had a faked serial number. This does not encourage optimistic thoughts towards the entire set. |

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star
Thank you, Sergio, for the additional photographs. I regret to inform you my opinion remains the same; I like these Red Stars, although, as you have stated, they have been excessively (?) polished and a replaced screw-post notwithstanding. Was the appropriately sized screw-plate that matches the replaced screw-post included? I have not seen the Combat Service Medal to which you refer. Have you posted it elsewhere? Please advise as your time permits. . .

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star
It would have been a better idea to post all the related items in a fake documented groups tread I believe to the group could be assessed as such.
The group as a whole tends to be something I would avoid. The pieces don't quite seem to fit together perfectly which starts to nag at any potential collector. As I always say "If in doubt - leave it out". The uncomfortable feeling attached to an acquired item can often spoil it for the collector no matter how many times others reinforce legitimacy. The question would be why would someone polish the reverses almost smooth and not the obverses that are usually the area focussed on by the wearing recipient?

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star
It also rounded tips, looks like a flared edged, I don't like.

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star
You are definitely right. I apologise for the mistake :o. I am not familiar with that section, I did not think to it when I have started posting. Feel free to move there the entire conversation, if this is not too heavy. Next time (if ever!) I will remember to post my groups there.

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star
Concerning ORS n.947053, more information can be derived by comparing the obverse with the reference used so far. What is more evident is not the sharp star tips where I do not see a big difference, but other details in the famous Marx's favourite motto. However, I think that the ORS under examination has many details in common with V4.1 (1020138-1284210) which is the lot produced by MMD immediately next to V3 and largely overlapping the serial numbers.

Re: Fake Orders of the Red Star
Unfortunately no one else wants to comment on the three RS, which for me are counterfeit, I expected more from 2600 users ... :(:(:(
