These are from the same seller and for very low prices. In all three ("saving drowning person" is posted in http://www.soviet-awards.com/forum/s...tml#post135838 ), the rings are the first giveaway. I don't know these medals very well, but they are becoming more common on the big auction.

Development of the Petrochemical Complex of Western Siberia
Hello,
what do you think about this "Development of the Petrochemical Complex of Western Siberia" medal. It is not so shiny as the usaul medals you find. It has a little rough surface. I found a few little differences compared to other medals. There is a little bridge between the tower and the gas storage basing. And the ring looks different. Development of the Petrochemical Complex of Western Siberia
Medal in post 135/136.
No the medal is gold plated, but not so shiny as the usual ones. And the surface is a little bit rough. Maybe they used a cheap gold plating. The colour in the picture is a little bit off. The medal has two little variations to other medals. They used a different die. There is a bridge between the tower and the tank and the door behind the hammer has another appearance (marked in the picture). Maybe it is just a production variation? But that is the question. One of the best fakes I have seen or production variation? best regards and thanks Andreas |
