Re: A Day Late and a Dollar Short...
Yeah, but look at that full head of hair at about 80 yearsold! That's reward enough, the lucky son of a gun. ;)
Cavalier or not he's got a heck of a rack. Check out the first image; almost textbook in precedence. Then compare with the second image; we can see some wild discrepencies.

Re: NKVD-KGB: Rise Through the Ranks
Wow, this is a prime example of what a high-ranking KGB officer could achieve. The photo is awesome. There were even a couple of badges that were not to be worn until the recipient had died and his body was on repose in full uniform. Then again, some of the KGB badges were never to be seen by anyone outside of the department.
Regardless, the information and photo are stunning. Please PM me with where you came by them.:thumbsup Phillip

Could you expand on that? The photograph raises the question (in my mind, anyway) as to what rank would have been displayed when a KGB Chairman wore a uniform? Four stars? |

We can also notice that Fedortjuk has red piping on his uniform, hence further establishing the fact that KGB generals wore red piping rather than the KGB royal blue piping used by officers and EM of the state security. Last edited by Tretov; 01-18-2012 at 02:24 PM. |

In the CIA, for example, the personnel have "military equivalent" ranks. These determine who are superior officers or equals when CIA employees are dealing with the military. I was therefore wondering whether there was an assigned military rank for the position of "KGB Chairman"? |
