I was trying to add my Serial number to the database and it said I did not have that privilege, any help please.
It is a type six variation two with engraved serial number 409753.

I was hoping someone could identify the insignia that came with my Order, it looks to be a screwback badge of some kind?

This is a scan of my Order and another screwback badge that came with it. I need help identifying it, I believe it to be a rank badge of some sort. I am pretty sure my order is a type 6 variation 2, serial number 409753, I would love to know more about this Order, approximate issue date etc. Please feel free to comment or leave feedback.

Re: My Order of Lenin

Hello and welcome!
I believe the badge is a Yugoslavian officer's cap badge, communist era.
The Lenin was probably awarded in the early to mid 70s.
Search here for "Echoes Of War' for more info about an excellent book that supplies serial numbers and dates for various Soviet wards.

Re: My Order of Lenin

My friend is from Italy and his father was some sort of Diplomat to an Eastern Bloc country, he bought the order, the badge, and the officers belt buckle for 20 dollars. He was sitting next to him on a train after the failed Coup in Moscow. He gave it to me knowing I love militaria and he didn't really care about it being a very wealthy person.

Edit, I found the cap badge, thanks. It is a Yugoslavian generals badge, so since I have the buckle the badge and the order with documented sources can I assume the Order was awarded to a Yugoslavian General and that is who he purchased it from?

CheckMateKing,

Your badge is a Yugoslavian general cap badge.

CheckMateKing,

You can assume anything you want, it's a free world after all ;)
Seriously, I'd say that there is a possibility that it is so, but unless you order research on your OL AND it comes back researchable, you can't tell for sure.

Re: My Order of Lenin

How do I proceed to get the research done? I am willing to take whatever steps necessary. If it was awarded to a Yugoslavian general would this be rare or run of the mill?

That would be quite a stretch actually. There's a saying in the medals field; "buy the item, not the story", or something similar.
The Order of Lenin is quite prestigeous anyhow.

Re: My Order of Lenin

I understand what your saying, but my friend guarateed me the Order, the Badge and the Belt all came from the same Officer, would it be a stretch for a Yugoslavian general to be awarded the Lenin?

This is my first foray into Soviet militaria, I usually only collect WW2 German. This just kind of fell into my lap and I wanted to educate myself. I appreciate all of your replies.

Re: My Order of Lenin

I can't say for sure but I'd guess the answer would be "yes, it's a stretch". But there are other here much more knowledgeable than I, including another good ol' Louisiana boy who should be on later this evening. :)

Re: My Order of Lenin

This Lenin has been produced in 1970 by the Leningrad Mint.
