Who were the named marshals?
Where do I find a grey one m/43? Was this a hat that the marshal had one of or more? Best

caps
since i sold the hats ( with the tunics) to a collector i can't tell the names without his permission.
a M1943 would be very difficultto find at this point. I have sold 3, and know of one more that I lost track of ( it came in via another dealer many years ago but had major water damage); i also know of one other as art of a uniform. One of the M43 ones i sold was named ( part of a uniform). DD ps- difficult to say...probably had 2 pareade sets at a time, but thats a guess based on shaky info. |

Doug,
I know you alswys say that you like to keep named uniforms confidential but is there a specific reason for this? Sounds like a silly question but just curious. :)

names
Its up to the client; when i collected i had no problem talking about the names of my martshals or generals. However, some clients would rather not have the names out in the open for some of the higher end stuff. having a Marshals parade uniform from the war is like having a suvorov 1st class; you might not want to say it belonged to this guy or that guy. Even in the Webster book no names are used.

museums
The Central Armed Forces Museum has Konevs, Zhukovs, and Rokkossovskys on display pretty much all the time. They also have Tolbuhkins that goes on display now and then. The problem is that even though an item might not be on display that does not mean the don't have it; thay have a reserve collection that they can draw from.
I do not know of any other Marshals VP uniforms in other museums. DD |
