Re: Please help with the markings on the chain on this dagger!
the grips have been re-applied with a nail - not something done in a factory.(it looks like a relic hj knife)
anyway if a Moderator says its ok to post an image of a swastika...i think your ok to do it. |

Re: Please help with the markings on the chain on this dagger!
While in some countries, including countries where this forum is read, the display of the swastika is illegal (and that ban is enforced, much to the consternation of Hindu temples), forum policy does not restict such practice so far as I know. Maybe it was just never imagined that stuff would be discussed here.
The utility of asking about Nazi stuff on a focused Soviet forum does, however, seem dubious at best. There are many places where those people hang out. Here, people may not know or care about such things and, sometimes, may aggressively not care. |

Re: Please help with the markings on the chain on this dagger!
Medals73,
my feelings exactly. I have collected medals and artifacts from many countries - that's why I chose "Curator" as my 'handle' - and i don't want to ruffle any feathers on this forum. I respect and admire all history. But even in this day and age, some of us still can remember that old animosities and wounds run deep. If I have Nz and Soviet artifacts, and English and American items as well, in my collection, I may be one of those rare birds that see all sides as interesitng and worthy of preservation. But there was so much hostility in the GPW, on both sides, that the wounds, to this day, linger on. I think - I know - I made a mistake trying to post that stupid relic here. So, I'll make it up by posting something even better from the Soviet side next time, something to blow even the old-timers socks off! If I'm anything, I'm lucky at finding rarities! Though you wouldn't know it from my OGPU forgery, eh? ![]() |
