ribbons
The ribbons are not badly mounted; some are 'reverse' mounted. I have photos of some Soviet generals in M1945 uniforms doing this ( though i do not know if Isakov did so). -DD

However, Doug, I have seen this too on occasion when viewing photos of many PKKA men with many orders. Especially after war when long bars were more common adornment than individual medals put close with eachother. I will add some more photos to the forum later of some things as per gentlemen's request to create some more interesting conversation. Thank you and good evening.

Isakov
Here is a photo of Admiral of the Fleet Isakov wearing the four star rank in 1944; Kuznetsov also wore this rank, so seeing Isakov in it does not mean alot. I still really would like to see a photo of Isakov wearing the "naval marshal" insignia during the war years as it would really set it in stone.

I love to get them in the same room at the same time! Here is Kuznetsov; medals and orders are copies, but proper.I get to 'visit' this uniform again this saturday : )
Here are detailed shots of the colalr and cuffs of the Kuznetsov uniform; as i said, would love to do a hands on with this uniform and Isakov! Last year the Russian Embassy invited my friend to display some uniforms for victory day celebrations...here is Kuznetsov and Voroshilov.DD Last edited by CtahhR; 09-11-2013 at 02:39 PM. |

Here is an example of what I would like to see; this is a photo of Kuznetsov in his M1945 uniform.
another photo of him in this uniform. another advanced collector brought up the idea that when Kuznetsov was demoted in 1948 (while this style of uniform was still being used) Isakov was given the rank and uniform; he would only have worn it for a very short period before it was phased out; it would explain the lack of photos of Isakov in the M1945 uniform, while 'allowing' him to have it. Thoughts? DD Last edited by CtahhR; 09-11-2013 at 02:40 PM. |

It's amazing what you can sometimes find on the Russian Internet. Here's the Order of Ushakov 1st class #6, that belonged to Admiral Isakov.

ribbons
Just to get back to the medal ribbons; at times generals / admirals and did mix 'regular' ribbons as well as the 'reverse'. Its not common, but did happen. -DD
