Thanks for the background/clarification. While Sokolovskiy was indeed a key player in the GPW, I agree that his post-war promotion to MSU is a factor to consider. That said, you're in a better position to assess how uncommon a M1945 MSU VP is in the first place. I would imagine that any original M1945-pattern MSU VP (even if for a post-war MSU) is still rather uncommon/scarce. Thanks again.

Its pretty rare! Even postwar its rare. I have sold 4 of them, and though I am sure of 1 more ( not the one in the webster/nelson book that is a reproduction), i do not know of any others after that. Its not as rare as the M1943 version of which i know of only 3.
