Commissar, I know the type of caps you are referring to, but I doubt this is that type. The fake caps usually have an other type of embroidery, flatter and with a poor type of thread.

This is what a SP cap looks like, the embroidery is "flatter".

hi folks,

to my understanding this cap is not from the soviet-power(web-shop?).
for sure i did not get it from them !

the inside is like any other general cap of this period.
to my understanding caps from the soviet-power shop go wrong on the overall look and inside.

any suggestion,
would a pic of an other part or angle help ?

no i don't mind at all , i offered it my self eh.

fancy hat , well it is the most up class one i own.
but to some standards just a cap.
thanks for the compliment.

the cap is normal on the inside no date indicated as usually with the later stuff.
one funny thing is that the size is indicated with a written 58, to me it shows is was only in storage.

charlet, is there any thing you have to construct this rather drastic opinion ?:confused:

i have been long enough around to see that the technique of embroidering is just the right one for this period of Russian cap's.
the only thing i found strange is that the color of the embroidering in rather different than all my other cap's (more or less white).

i don't know where you get the Mexican thing from?
what do you find so different (wrong) about the gold thread?

anyhow thanks for sharing , could you back it up and educate my simple sole?

Maybe it´s post-soviet production or transitional period. If so, the explanation to the 1985 buttons is the use of overproduced stock. Yes, late period soviet caps for generals had quite big crowns but not that big as RF ones, or did they?
