The boards seem to be original M43. The shirt indeed seems to be NKVD type, abut I can't say from the pics if it is good or not.

Gym is NKVD-MGB type, hard to say what time but buttons isn't original to gym.

If the Red Star is original to the uniform wouldn't it be a good idea to research it to see what information pops up?

Here's how it was when i have taken.
The Star seems to be a good, a T. 4 V. 6.2 (Filler), perhaps the enamel entirely rebuilt, but the lamp of Wood gave a negative result.

As much as I doubt that this star belonged to the gimnasterka's original owner, wouldn't it be impossible to find out who he was? NKVD after all...

However, if you look at the uniform as whole thing it doesn't fit - NKVD/MGB shirt, Army boards, ribbons and order... looks put togeather

I don't think it would hurt to try researching. If this is "put together" the Red Star could have been awarded to anyone for anything. If it does come back NKVD or the such or returns no result it may indeed be original to the tunic. Very much a game of Russian Roulette.

Should be of brass?
Buttons are sewn with wire military green.
