Pogons of cloth for field uniform of 6 facet were not, and use until 50th years with 5 facet was such. Only type with metal lace have change to 6 facet 1948r without change to NKVD.

Buttons of brown fibre material made only in USA after 1943 and use for many years after war and 1950x. Signs present or not on opposite do not matter. Uniform of before 1943r with such button has been replace by soldier after, or by seller to decieve novice western collector. Such of both situation entirly is possible.

Such edition of engineer badge also use for many years, and during 50th years.

I am not sure I agree with you about the buttons as from what I have read they were made from 1940 on. I do not think the ones I saw on the M1940 uniforms were changed or faked, but to each his own. Also, as Dave says, I am not 100% they are LL.

As for the field boards, thats interesting, I always assumed they were changed to the 6 sided also for army/AF. Also, the branch insignia is sapper troops.

I still think the tunic is circa 1945/46, but thats just my opinion, and as I stated its very tough to tell these. All sellers seem to state all M43s as wartime!

I'm a little confused. Is this right: field boards were 5-sided through the 1950s, whereas non-field boards were 6-sided starting in 1948. NKVD had 6-sided boards all along.

NKVD boards were 6 sided, unchanged. Army /AF gold service/parade boards were 5 sided and then became 6 sided in 1948. I always thought that was the same for field, but maybe not!

Got this Gymnasterka a few days ago very cheap. What do you think about it.

No stamps inside and no date on the buttons. Only an stamped "M" on the buttons.

When was it produced? In the 1960`s???
