Guards Badges.
May I ask where you found the photos of the post-Soviet badges? I had only seen the first one until tonight.:thumbsup

Re: A WWII Guardia Badge
You can haunt ebay for your post soviet badges (although I haven't seen all three of those...are you sure you don't have a picture of prototypes or drafts? The bottom middle two are post soviet models #1 and #2)
Most of these came off of ebay over a 3 year period or so. Last edited by Jeffrey Meffert; 12-01-2009 at 12:51 AM. |

These Post Soviet Guards Badges appear on pages 69 and 70 of Breast Badges of the Red Army (1941-1945) by B.V. Airapetyan, which was published in 2004. The 'dark, double headed eagle' badge is a pin back badge from 1992, the 'star' badge is screw back and was manufactured by the Pobeda factory in 2002, and the'golden double headed eagle' badge is smooth backed with a screw attachment and was also manufactured by the Pobeda factory in 2002. No, I won't be changing my avatar, as I continue my love affair with Soviet and Post Soviet Guards Badges. Best regards, Jim Quote:
Thanks for your advice. I have indeed been "haunting" ebay for both Soviet and Post Soviet Guards Badges. The reference I quoted above is firm on their production in 1992, and 2002, respectively. I have two examples of your #1, which I've obtained from ebay vendors. I'll continue to "haunt ebay" and keep my fingers (....and toes, arms, legs, eyes....) crossed.
