Re: Aleksandr Lukashenko - Marshal of Belarus?
Simon,
As President, he is the Head of the Armed Forces. This must be the uniform that correspond to his position. Marc |

Re: Aleksandr Lukashenko - Marshal of Belarus?
Marc,
Thank you for your response. Certainly, he is the Commander-In-Chief. At the same time, Lukashenko's behavior at the parade, with him showing off his uniform and having his son also in uniform review troops, resembles that of Brezhnev and Kim Il Sung. Most modern presidents choose not create ostentatious uniforms for themselves. Simon |

Victory Parade 2010
It seems that this year's parade is going to be huge (11500 troops) and colorful (UK,US and French marchers will participate). Some pictures from the rehearsals: ( I don't have the time to resize pics - so if ANY of the members will do it - I would be grateful)

Re: Victory Parade 2010
All I can say is I wish I could be there... I thought the jets flying in the "65" formation was pretty cool. It promises to be an amazing spectacle.
Since I doubt there will be any US television coverage other than about 30 seconds of clips and then mostly of American troops, if anybody knows of an online source to be able to either watch this live or check it out later, please share. It looks like it's going to be an all day affair. Phillip

Re: Victory Parade 2010
Usually, victory parades´ footage from these last years are available in Youtube shortly after the parade itself. Let´s be patient.

Re: Victory Parade 2010
Got your point. However, usually they do cover the parade, but news sites´ clips are way too short for me to be satisfied.

Re: Victory Parade 2010
I have spent the last couple of hours searching for live feeds of the Victory Day Parade (probably starting in a few hours from now), but have found nothing - at least that I can access with my old computer, without paying for it, or without switching to a satellite feed in the next couple of hours on a Saturday evening.
Ah well, I'm sure somebody will come up with some footage tomorrow. Phillip
