Hello everybody,

I have just purchased this veteran of the armed forces - medal. I have read in Paul Mc Daniel`s and Paul Schmitt`s book "The comprehensive guide to soviet orders and medals" that these gilded medals were made in very limited quantities for high - ranked officers only.

Do you think, this one is genuine ?

I have one of those too and I personally consider it a creative work of idle Baltic hands rather than some fancy unofficial generals version.

Marc, it’s interesting to hear your opinion about this one “general’s edition”.
I think "veteran in Gold" is the same as 30 years in silver :thumbsdown

I came across this table medal being offered right now, and was wanting to hear some opinions on it. Sure it's pretty beat up, but any thoughts on its authenticity? These pics are all the seller has provided.
