Wow. Here's another from the same seller. This time a Bravery Medal.
I wonder of this was found together with the ORB and if they belonged to the same soldier?
Note the damage on the reverse. Shrapnel???

I had some time to kill this morning so I was fooling around with my camera to get some good shots of the obverse of this beauty to use as my avatar. The shots came out quite well (I think) so I thought I'd share. I was particular about the focusing and it took me about an hour and 20 plus shots to get what I thought was optimal.

Using my Kodak EasyShare Z730 with the shutter priority option I had the shutter speed at 2.0", the exposure at +1.0 and the ISO at 100. I had two white bedsheets over the window to filter the full morning sun and another portion of a white sheet surrounding the area where the picture was being taken (in this case on the dinning room floor :chuckle )

I hope the beauty of my favorite medal comes through.

The camera itself is only a $200 digital camera. And, I haven't got the close-up lens for it that I want to (this recession is killing me!!!) but with time to kill and a lot of experimentation I can pull off a good shot or two.
Maybe the digital photography of ODMs will replace collecting ODMs as my main hobby since it's one heckuva lot cheaper? :(
