this one was polished and i'm concerned with what looks like the absence of background rough texture on the front that is usually present on these medals. is it authentic? thank you

Re: Fake "Liberation of" Campaign Medals
Maybe good... maybe not. The somehow artificial looking "wearing traces" of the reverse do look strange and also does the polished surface. In this case just follow the old rule: if there are any doubts and no evidence of being genuine, just leave it out ! :idea
e.g. take a look at my post concerning the Odessa - medal in the "defense of" - thread ! Last edited by Shocktrooper; 10-15-2012 at 04:19 AM. |

3aStalina, the Belgrade is a fake. Just look at the tenon-shaped stem of 1944 and other letters' shapes, too.
There is it! Have made the illustration. Last edited by CtahhR; 12-22-2014 at 02:17 AM. |

Re: Fake "Liberation of" Campaign Medals
I just made up my mind; it is no longer possibly a fake, but definately.

Re: Fake "Liberation of" Campaign Medals
Hi folks! What's your opinion on this Belgrad? I think it is ok, but in general I find very difficult to judge this medal!
Thanks for your support ciao Sergio |

Re: Fake "Liberation of" Campaign Medals
Thanks Jens!
I thought they all looked bad, its a shame because they're all up for auction in the UK shortly. Its sad that no doubt someone will spend their hard earned cash on these and be disappointed. Its a cruel world sometimes but at least i won't be wasting any of my money! Thanks again, Tom |
