Alexei,

Yes, it should... Once upon a time, it was part of a retired dealer's inventory

Oh, I see. In this case it's a fake, and you should sent it back for full refund of the original purchase price :)

Re: Fake Guarding the State Border Medals

Andreas,

I don't like it. It seems to have that "cast" quality :(

Re: Fake Guarding the State Border Medals

While the type 2 & 3 seem to have more of a grainy, cast appearance, the details (such cooling vents on the PPSH barrel) do not seem to be what they should be on this one. I'm skeptical.

Re: Fake Guarding the State Border Medals

Seems OK to me (at least as far as I can tell from the scans)

Andreas,

As usual, I'll sound along with Alexei ;)
The medal looks OK to me based on what you showed.

Re: Fake Guarding the State Border Medals

Thanks Marc and Alexei for your oppinions,

Now I am totally sure that this one is okay.:) I bought it from a large dealer in the US.

But most of my collector friends were sceptical about this one and showed me their medals, which looked different :thumbsdown

best regards
Andreas
