Just started not so long ago. Here is what I have so far.

Bogdan Khmelnitsky 3rd (1st Type)
Alexander Nevskiy (3rd Type)
For Military Merrit (Type 1 Var 1)
For Bravery (Type 1, Var 1)
Red Banner (Mirrored T1,V3)

Thats all for Jems but still working on it

I will display 3 different groups, because to me as a new collector they are all priceless. Here it goes

Group 2 with Bogdan Type 1 and For Military Merrit Type 1 Variation 1 (Mondvor)

And my very personal and favorite. Memorial for my grandfather. I am still missing some items here but I am working on it

Hello all,

I have been monitoring the progress of this thread, and I think we could benefit from more, interesting awards especially from our distinguished panel of Moderators...

So what about Art, Tal, Nota Bene, Eugene, etc.? What are some "Crown Jewels" of your private collections and the ones you have handled and sold/traded? I KNOW you have volumes to show & tell!!!

Red Star,

Naughty, naughty. Here I am trying to figure out wich unit your grandfather may have been in and you have several medal docs. Often there is a unit listed at the bottom with the stamp. Can you send or post scans of these areas of the docs...

Shawn. I looked at the information on and around the stamps of the documents.
No hint of anything.
The oldest docummented medal is "For Victory" that was awarded in 1946.
Nothing in Order Book too. Sorry

Has anyone ever been lucky enought to own, or still owns, a Ushakov 1st, Nakhimov 1st, Kutuzov 1st, Suvorov 1st or Khmelnitsky 1st? Any idea what one of these would cost today?

Actually, one of the board members is selling or may have already sold a Khmelnitsky 1 & Kutuzov1 !!!

A really beautiful badge and is my favourite. The image to me conjures up the spirit of the times when it was made (circa 45) and Russia aspiration to dominant the world (my perception).

No 512.

Size and value do not rule

Chris,

Very neat little badge. From the people who were responsible for all the excellent maps of the USSR. Even a large percentage of WWII Red Army maps were made by the civilain cartographic institute.

Order of Glory Cavalier set (1st Class, Ser.No.100)
(I hope I never run across #99 and #101!!!)
Type 2 Hero Star belonging to an ethnic Mongolian (Buryat) for street fighting in Berlin (tracked down daughter of Hero, and this medal is responsible for the upcoming marriage between an American and a Buryat gal)
Order of Glory set (see article #1 on this website) belonging to Vasily Telkov
Two Type 2 Hero Stars (one to an artillery colonel and the other to an enlisted man "river crosser")
And a small medallion presented to me by Soviet female Heroine Mariya Dolina.
