Can someone help me with the translation ? (Name and rank of the awardee, text corresponding to the three medals...).
Can anyone explain further this document ? In advance many thanks. Many thanks for your comments on this Set. I posted on the Forum 5 sets of MIS I acquired in different places of Europe these last years. I would be very pleased to get both your comments and answers to the questions I have, in particular relating to the documents.. In advance, to all Forum Members who will bring light, many thanks. Cheers. Ch. PS : I have an equivalent set of the modern Russia (FSB) and other equivalent medals. I would post them only if asked, as it is off topic. |

It is not MVD document.
It is document for medals "For Irreproachable Service in the Minister of Defence" (=army). BTW, there is such a document in Mondvor site. It is the first picture on the document page of "For Irreproachable Service" -medals but is no picture about the front cover. Regards, Jussi-Pekka |

Thanks Jussi-Pekka,
You are absolutely right. Thinking this was a MVD doc., I did not notice that. BTW, could you please help me to translate the cover, as well as the names and content (if it is not too much to ask :D ). In advance, many thanks. Cheers. Ch. |

Christophe,
If the reason for posting those medals was to ask for opinions on their authenticity, I think you are safe, because they never get faked, except for some KGB and MOOP variations. Alexei |

Alexei,
Many thanks for your comments. My intention is obviously to check - or at least have opinions on - their authenticity. That's the reason why I initally posted bigger post (in size, not in KB) for details to be better seen. Dave and yourself gave me similar reassuring comments. Good. Of course, I fully understand the contraints of size of the Forum. If you think this thread has to be deleted (too current medals to be kept...) feel free to do it. Just keep the documents posts so that I can get more information on the translation from Members of the Forum... ;) BTW, I am surprised (in the initial sense of the word) that these types of medals are not faked, because I have got some difficulties to find all of them (not so easy and current compared to other current medals, seen and experimented by me...). And the KGB, MOOP and MVD version are not so cheap ! Could you precise me what are the KGB and MOOP variations which can be found faked ? 3 additional points : 1. I have first to apologize because, as Jussi-Pekka very rightly noticed it, I attributed to the Set 5 the document relating to the Set 2. (I checked this today and in fact mixed the scans... what happens whenyou don'tvread and understand Russian...:( ). Sorry for that : the doc of the Set 5 is in fact the doc of the Set 2. 2. I would also like the opinions of the Forum Members on the associated docs to the sets. Are they fully consistent with the shown medals, or is it more the creative work of dealers ? the question is relevant for docs related to Set 3 and 4 (see posts). 3. About the rarity : I am always surprised by the low numbers of the awarded medals written on the booklets. Are these yearly figures, beginning at "1" in January 1st ? What is the policy for the figures in the booklets ? How are they attributed : in a sequential manner, yearly ? Many thanks. Ch. |

about the rarity (numbers)
The number in the document is not the number of the medal.
It is the number of the order of the day in which the medal is awarded. The text before number is in english something like " In SSSR's ministry for internal affairs order of the day n.o___ date____ is awarded medal "For Irreproachable Service" ___ class". Is there some existing statistics about the number of these medals (MoD, MVD, MOOP, KGB...) awarded ?

Medal Irreproachable svrc. medals booklet
Did all variations of this medal use the same booklet type?
I mean - is there still "armed forces" on the booklet for, let's say, KGB medals? Thanks upfront |

Long Service Medals
 I have a question for the Forum. I know that before the introduction of the three Medals for Irreproachable Service, existing orders and medals were given for various periods of service. Were there actually set rules or statutes, awarding a specific medal or order for a specific period of service, or were the medals given at random, depending on the political or military stature of the recipient, or upon the whim of the authority issuing the award?
