Re: M1943 Special Tunic for NKGB Commissars
I keep looking at the holes. You are probably right about ORBs, but the one on the left seems a little larger - Lenin? (You can dream, right? :thumbsup) I'd just see which two fit in the space.
I'd love to see it when it's finished. Phillip

Re: M1943 Special Tunic for NKGB Commissars
There is clearly something lower, flat, to the order on the left....screwback Lenin? That would be something!

Re: M1943 Special Tunic for NKGB Commissars
Kliment,
Here is an example of the special tunic for NKGB Commissars. It had two different types of damage / staining; the first, mostly in the upper part of the tunic, was from rain. That cleaned up over the past three/four weeks quite well. The other damage / staining was, I am told, from food. Seems this Commissar was not the neatest and spilled a least one meal into his lap after perhaps having 'one too many'. That staining is much tougher to get out without using heavy duty chemicals. Due to fading, the outlines of the two orders (see previous posts) were easy to see; a Lenin and Red Banner worked perfectly. Nice to know what he was awarded. DougD |

Snazzy uniform!
I can't even see the stains, I thought it was just one beautiful uniform. :) Nice awards too! |

Great tunic; did it find a good home Doug?
If I could only collect it all..... Someone is getting a great tunic for their collection. Thanks for sharing Doug. Clete

Re: M1943 Special Tunic for NKGB Commissars
Commissar,
The work that was done on the tunic took much of the staining out of the exterior of the tunic...however, you can still see it when looking at the interior. DougD |

For a State Security collector that would have to be a crown jewel of your collection. Would be tough to improve on a tunic like this one is. Clete
