Re: In the Stasi...
In the previous version of the museum, the relaxing room of the Stasi officers, close to the big meeting room, had been transformed in a small cafeteria open to visitors.
Again, please, see my pics in my first posts... Now, this is finished. I have again asked why the change, and have been told that it damaged the furniture... Probably exact. :thumbsup So, the have opened new cafeteria spaces, but located in very curious places, not planned for this use, as you can see below... The first pic is the former officers' relaxing room. Ch. Pic : © Christophe – ChR Collection |

Re: In the Stasi...
Thanks Ralph ;) .
As I said earlier, I believe there will be other changes as some parts of the building are still under refurbishment... Cheers. Ch. |

Re: In the Stasi...
Hello Ralph,
I went there end of December 2012, a few weeks ago. In fact, nothing has really changed since my last visit a few months earlier... The new cafeteria spaces opened a few months ago are still the same... The exhibition displays shown in Haus 22 have not been transfered yet in Haus 1. That means a lot of items are still not visible... The Lenin death mask on Mielke's office is still missing... The only new things are a few rooms (that had refurbishment undergoing) now opened. But minor interest, as they are leisure or "normal life" places... You can see examples below... Ch. Pic : © Christophe – ChR Collection Last edited by Christophe; 01-20-2013 at 08:40 AM. |

Re: In the Stasi...
Christophe - Thank you very much for your latest update. I very much appreciate it...It has been a few years since I have been there and so it is good to see additional photos of the rooms you just posted. I have not seen them before.
