Hi Marc,

I thought that was the case. Thanks for confirming.

Any idea what the notation "N 205/207" means? I've never seen that before.

Thanks again! :thumbsup

Re: ORS and Bravery Award Booklet

Hello. Let me continue this thread with another booklet awarding a Red Star.
My impression is about the paper is positive, the order slightly suspicious (it will be shown in the dedicated "fake" section)
What is your opinion?

grazie

Gents, what say you to this image?
The strong seal and signature, red stamps and strange numbers and their ink make me feel uneasy, while the general wear seems legit. You?

And what I assume to be the cover.

Re: Ordenskaya Knizhka not kosher?

Eric,

IMHO, all the stamps are genuine, but the writing was erased and the SN and dates were replaced.

Re: Ordenskaya Knizhka not kosher?

Whenever I see a number 9 that looks like a backwards "P" it makes me suspicious. I believe they've only been writing their 9 like this in modern Russia, kind of like how we do in the West. In the 40s, they would always curve the tail on the "9" upwards.

Re: Ordenskaya Knizhka not kosher?

Interesting observation, but I see a few 'straight-leg' 9s on the Mondvor site (they have a Ordenskaya Knizhka section for those unaware.)
Another thing that I sometimes notice is awards that probably date well after the lower date in the OK and often they seem to be in the same or similar hand; is that normal?
