It appears to have originally been a communications/signals patch but someone removed the insignia and replaced it with the large star and wreath found on a motorized infantry patch.

Here's my post about when I bought it.

Nice dembel collecting while I was away! I collected these dembel uniforms at one time (see here: http://soviet-awards.com/forum/sovie...orm-piece.html) - they are really cool. I may have to dig them out. And then maybe sell them. I dunno.
