These late Red Banner were awarded for all kinds of different things. A few I have on file:

- 556383: awarded by Decree of Oct 28, 1967
- 556483: awarded to a Sgt. by Order of the North Caucasian Front of Jun 17, 1942
- 557676: awarded to Lt.Gen. Yefremov on Jan 2, 1942
- 561002: awarded posthumously to a Sgt. (KIA May 7, 1942) by Order of the Northwestern Front of Jul 16, 1942
- 561766: awarded to Adm. Gorshkov by Decree of Jul 23, 1959
- 562805: awarded to MSU-to-be Yazov by Decree of Oct 1, 1963
- 562847: awarded to a Col. by Decree of Feb 12, 1972
- 565699: awarded to a Lt.Col. by Decree of Dec 24, 1991
- 565757: awarded to a Lt. by Order of the Western Front of Nov 3, 1941

This has brought up an interesting thought.

Many Soviet awards have been issued post-Soviet Union as catch-ups. Have any 2nd, 3rd, etc Red Banners been awarded post-Soviet or do you just get your entry level Red Banner regardless of whatever has previously been issued?

I bought this really nice ORB about a month ago. The seller tried one source to research it, but it came back without results. I would really like to try some other avenues of research, as I am sure that it will come back with an interesting story.

Would it not be cool if it were associated with VietNam or Afghanistan?

Can you please make a large scan of the SN and MM area. If the number is genuine, it is completely out of range for this type and variation.

I will make a bigger photo of the area. There is no evidence of tampering or etc with this order.

What are the ramifications if this order is genuine?

BTW, if you click on the photo three times(first time, it is in a black frame, the second time, it is in it's own white window, then the third time makes it a little bigger), it will be much bigger.
