Bruce, don't patronize me. Get out of your Ivory Tower and either publish or shut up.

At least a year ago I volunteered to you my Glory data base for your book and you didn't even give me the courtesy of responding.

If you'll permit me a pointer, I hope you've disabused yourself by now of referring to "full cavaliers" as "knights". That would really be a blow to your credibility, despite your Korean War Glory.

Please return to making platitidinous pronouncements on the prices of Glory sets. You were much more tolerable then.

Cheers!

desantnik,

No need to be uncivil. I certainly have not been. I'm sorry if you took offense to any earlier failures on my part to respond to personal messages you sent. Thank you.

Civility is not the issue...

BE or Polkovnik Slava F. Class - It's not about civility or lack thereof. We've all seen this Korean OG3 subject come up every couple months, and we are simply tired of being offered just a whiff, these scraps and hints. I guess the point is this: don't tease us. If you have something of such tremendous interest to say (and we'll all agree about that), just lay it out with the backup to prove it (scans, etc), or keep it to yourself until you are really ready. These half-measures really sound more like some sort of book promotion attempt or a fear that someone will steal the thunder in print first (or worse yet, simply an exhalation of warm air mixed with some empty words). Be a soldier and sound off front and center, or please get back into the ranks.

As for a future publication, don't worry so much. If you keep the price reasonable and the customer service good, I think you'll see an awful lot of us line up and open our wallets to read what you have to say even if you let that Sturmovik-Rear-Gunner-Kitty's rear paws out of the bag a bit "early"... ;)

...Brian (it's my real name) of Дом Фистера, Spearhead! Ready First! :thumbsup

Re: Piercing Yet Another Price Threshold‏

Asking price is one thing, what someone actually pay (thus giving it a value) is another.

I mean, I can ask one million USD for my "50th anniversary of Soviet militia" but no one would pay that for it; the value is still about 15 USD. What will be the case with the OG1 may differ, but 17500 sounds like an awful lot of money.

Absolutely right. The lack of verifiable data on sales makes all price claims questionable. The closest we have are "prices realized" from auctions. And even those are suspect, as they are subject to manipulation.

The reason is that US $ decreased a lot against other currencies... :laff

I really agree, it's an incredible amount of $$$, but I think that there are still people able to pay such price... :(

Prices will never go down again...

Good point. Ahh, to be getting paid in Sterling again. :( But that would mean putting up with English winters. :p

In which case seventeen grand is a great, fair price, and it should be purchased immediately. Note however that someone is *selling* it, which indicates that one person (the seller) believes it will at least *not* increase in value enough to hang on to it any longer. And they may even believe it will decrease in value.

Lot's of "sure things" in the investment world turn out to not be so.

Yea, I've been wondering what the market is like in Russia? Are ODMs being traded at high prices as advertised? What's the word on the street? Lapa -- got any insight?
