I'll side with Alexei on this one.

Get both numbers researched and the one with the better story would be what I would use.

It is the difference between a guy repairing a communications line under fire and a guy destroying two gun emplacements and capturing several Germans, my number would be the latter!

So in your view the real s/n is.... which one? 38256 or 38956?

(He said as a sneaky way to not look stupid by admitting he's not sure how to interpret what Alexei wrote... did I say that out loud...?? D'uo!!!)

"Eryk," he said, whispering under his breath, and with his hand ever so discretely covering his mouth so as not to be heard, "I think they are saying it's 38256. . ."

My 3 Orders of Glory III. one with an odd variation...

the three from left to right are numbered 510872, 551754, and 695372.

the 695372 is considerably thinner than the other two. the middle pictures is how it (on the bottom) compares to the darker 551754 (on top)...

is this something anyone observed with theirs as well?

My OG2 is a "thin" variation so I'd assume there are "thin" OG3s as well?

Yes, there are thin OG IIIs as well. They are mainly found in OG IIs but occaisonally you'll find one in a III class. These are harder to find in the III Class, so its a 'rarer' version that you have. I have several in the collection with the lowest thin number being 31k.
