My display
Gentlemen,
Sergey and I exchanged E-mails. There is no problems and misunderstanding anymore. We agreed that we were acting “stupid”. To change the topic back to original "How to display Soviet Awards", here is my another display. On the top - 3 classes of Soviet order Bogdan Khmelintskly; the second row - 3 classes of Ukrainian order of Bogdan Khmelnitsky. Jeff, if previous display was my kidneys, this one is my liver. Eric BTW, both first classes (Soviet and Ukraine) are fakes. |

Eric,
Nice, very nice Way beyond my league (I kind of like me kidneys ) but nice to look at anyway. The quality of 1st classes looks frighteningly good, are they the more expensive manufacture? This thread is beginning to give me itchy fingers (so to say) only I can't choose, too many very tempting designs and ideas. Sergei |

Thanks Sergei, 1st class Soviet I bought on eBay from Litvenian dealer. He has many good copies for sale. The first Ukrainian I made my self from the 2nd class. It was not very difficult. The original 1st class made from different metal (I think gold and silver) and little bit bigger. Eric |

my WW2 awards
After some consideration I tore up one of my older displays and created a display for my WW2 era ODMs.
Everything here has a serial number that dates from before May, 1945. Except, of course, the two items that don't have serial numbers. They looked close enough for me and I added them as a bit of flavor. I left a little room for a couple of cap stars if I can find them. Now, before you say 'Eric ya dope, ya forgot one' I still have get one more medal. Hopefully before very long it will come as I've been told "good things come to those who wait". Considering what's displayed can you guess what I'm waiting so very patiently for?

Here is my current display. I know it is all a mess, but the display is home at my parents house in Finland, and I don't have the time or need to bring it to my apt' in Sweden... so it has not been re-arranged or fixed for several years. Some of them have fallen off and just been re-attached more or less sloppy.

Hello, I display my medals with Riker mount display cases, this one has velvet tray insert. I like this one because the glass dose not touch the orders, the others have a cotton insert that works well on common medals.
