Re: ORDERS OF GLORY
The name of the MajGen of Artillery is Pyotr Mikhailovich Rozhanovich, not Romanovich. His division was the 3rd Guards Breakthrough Artillery Division (renamed on 7 March 1943 from 8th Breakthrough Artillery Division). The commander of the 5th Breakthrough Artillery Corps is MajGen of Artillery Mikhail Petrovich Kuteinikov.
According to your citation 3GBAD was subordinated to 5BAC, but according to some other orders of battle it was subordinated to the 33rd Army of the Western Front and transferred to the 5th Army of the Western Front somewhere in March 1944 (while 5BAC was directly subordinated to the Western Front). |

Re: ORDERS OF GLORY
Thanks Marsino,
It does look like there's something there, but under magnification It's just a mark on the page, Also if the names faded on this side of the page why is everything ok on the other side. Cheers, Nick. :) |

Re: ORDERS OF GLORY
It is possible - though highly unlikely - that it was on display for many years where the sun could hit it. I have seen that happen before to non-printed ink.
My real guess is they used an ePay "KGB disappearing ink pen" (see for yourself).:chuckle Phillip

Re: ORDERS OF GLORY
...maybe someone faded the book to make new entries matching the serial number of the order !?
By the way: has the suspension ring been repaired ? Jens |

Re: ORDERS OF GLORY
e.g.: there may be some liquids you can use to make the ink visible again - just ask in a pharmacy.

Re: ORDERS OF GLORY
Try to solarize the page with a photo editing program.
Many times you can see the hidden ink. ;) Last edited by marsino; 06-05-2011 at 04:45 AM. |
