Re: members decorations and medals
With the possibility of 6 Gazette records it's quite amazing there isn't a single "hit". If a "mention in dispatches" isn't in dispatches what is it?
I must admit, this thread was "bumped" after some had done research and not before.

Re: members decorations and medals
The Original Poster's story has now been heavily self-edited (although lots of the story can be found in other users quotes).
I'm sure forum members can form their own opinions.

"Edited"!? I believe the proper term is "deleted."

Re: members decorations and medals
Gents,
I would venture a guess that a forum member or two downloaded the original image given its impressive "make up." That said, maybe we'll see it reposted here. Regards, slava1stclass |

Re: members decorations and medals
I'd also like to know what a "peacelike" Campaign Medal is? Certainly not in any English language British Army handbook.
This is now without saying anything about New Zealander Service awards in the British "TAVR" seeing other bits of the tale have also been "edited". I would suggest serious discussion with a PSAO.

Re: members decorations and medals
It is a real shame that he had to fib about the awards... it looks as if his legitimate bar is fairly impressive on its own.

Re: members decorations and medals
Well this saga's not over yet!
In an effort to restore the original set of lies (yes lies) I tried to find the original image posted - with no success. I did however find this image. It is a very poorly mounted set of mainly copies that the original poster claims to be his awards. This group accumulated a Legion Of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, 2 Mentions In Dispatches, Lebanon Bar and Golden Jubilee Medal between this picture being posted and the picture that was posted in this thread (which he has since deleted). The lie continues to grow. I have also confirmed that this individual never served in the British Armed Forces and since the original poster also edited his post (which has now been restored) to omit service in the New Zealand Royal Navy I believe that this individual has never served in any of Her Majesty's Armed Forces nor been awarded any of the Medals. This user was not banned for these lies but for repeated abuse of the Forum Marketplace. A compulsive liar unable to conduct business (other than pushing fakes on ebay).

Re: members decorations and medals
is this so fundamental for your self-esteem to dig up this pathetic story?

Re: members decorations and medals
A bit harsh I think charlet. Quite a lot of people take military imposters very seriously. If the original poster was caught running around in my country (Australia) frauduently wearing those medals, he would be in serious trouble.
Sites like this one Australasian Military Imposters, Australian New Zealand Military Wannabes or Wannabees are reguarly catching out people pretending to be returned service men and wearing decorations they didnt earn. Have a read of some of the stories, quite interesting. I for one appreciate hearing further information on this. I certainly dont want to give respect to someone for something they havent done. |
