Do you by any chance have some better pictures of the Glory?

Gents,
A very nice double Glory set that just popped on the well-known auction site. Attributed to an AAA gun commander. Name checks out on podvig. BIN price is $1,699.00. Regards, slava1stclass Last edited by CtahhR; 07-06-2014 at 08:27 AM. |

Re: Glory.
Here is a trio of snaps from "The Liberators" Episode 11 "The Naval Infantry".
The 4 full cavaliers that were Heroes, the 4 who were not male and finally the number awarded only for action during the Great Patriotic War (according to the Russian Federation). I know there was supposed a decree for 10 Orders Of Glory for the "skirmish" against China (including Evgenij Stepanovich Perevalov) but weren't most of these Orders supposed to be awarded for fighting against Americans in Korea?

Re: Glory.
Hello,
what do you think - how much would an order of glory 3rd class with 53000th serial number be on the market these days (approximately)? The condition is worn, slightly polished and without enamel damage. Thank you very much for your help ! :thumbsup |

Re: Glory.
I think the lion's share of undocumented OG3s will be retailing in the $75-$125 as no-one wants to share the mythical Petrograd $50 every time source.

Re: Glory.
Thank you very much ! This was very helpful ! :thumbsup
Btw.: which "mythical Petrograd" do you mean ? The archives ? Maybe this is a myth, I did not hear from before... |

Re: Glory.
There was a totally unsubstantiated claim that OG3s could be picked up any time in Saint Petersburg but no evidence was ever shown.
On the topic of myths relating to this Order... Quote:
Another great myth that doesn't seem to be proven by evidence. I've certainly not seen any Korean War awards (of any award) on "the site" yet and with the exception of the Red Banner to Novichenko for saving Kim Il-Sung from a grenade on 1st Match 1946, no post war with Japan awards for actions in Korea on "the site". I would love to see some!

Re: Glory.
Podvig Naroda's purpose is to enlighten the public about the GPW, so therefore it only has GPW-era citations (1941-1945). They also have a few postwar wound award citations pertaining to the GPW, but I doubt they will ever upload other postwar citations.

Re: Glory.
We can live in hope.
There are also the legendary Glories for the border conflict with China but to date I have never found any information on the ukaz, which I would expect to be a very desirable official document to those interested not only in Soviet awards but the Cold War as a whole. With so many post-1945 military and labour ukazes available out there (not just on "the site" but other official resources) it is quite peculiar that the most desirable ukazes relating to the Order are also not widespread. All those post-1945 "overseas advisers", "combat readiness", "Hungary", "Afghanistan" and more ukazes out in the open, but the key legendary official documents relating to this award for post-September 1945 actions look more and more like fiction than fact. I'm sure we would all love to see official text or images of official documents confirming this Order being awarded for any post-45 action (and not just catch-ups and wounds).
