Georgian Banner captured by Russian forces, 2008

I know, I know. It's not Soviet ... But it is a great picture of a Georgian Banner captured by Russian forces, 2008, on display in Russia.

Better resolution picture id here:

Well, in China, we don't have such military unit flags. So there's no chance of being captured a flag like that.

but q is, what if the flag is captured? I think in modern warfare, military units in many countries don't use such banners. At least in China, no such regiment flags. Or regiments do have flags, but they are just those off the shelf common types.
