rectangular ribbon, no precisions about material but not gold!

I wouldn't think so Esteban. But Ed Haynes would the most competent in this field because I think have understood he works about Middle East in a university.
Ethiopia had a communist regime, and a bloody one (they put the country into deep famine), headed by Haile Mariam Mengistu. 100% supported by Moscow.
This is extremly sad, but who cares about Ethiopia? who cares faking such a thing? and from a phaleristic point of vue, the orders of the emperor Haile Selassié (the "Negus") period are by far nicer and researched.

The bar reads "በግዳጅ ላይ ለቆሰለ" (For Wounds In Battle) so this may not yet be correctly identified (or the bars were mixed and matched?).

I've seen many slap-dash "rebuilds" of Ethiopian awards with bits and pieces from everywhere (similar to putting the wrong ribbon or suspension on an award) - and yet no solid information on the awards from reliable official Ethiopian sources.
