Re: Fake "Capture of" Campaign Medals
Guys no ideas concerning this Leningrad?
I'm going to post 2 more pictures, I hope these help.I cannot weight it right now. It measures 2 mm (width) and 3.2 cm (diameter) and it's slightly bulged in the center of the medallion Notice how the ring is soldered to the medallion. It's symmetric and the material seems just too recient. I also think the suspension is definitely false and I could say there's a lack of detail in the leaves. I could change it for a Valiant Labour during the Patriotic War, Liberation of Warsaw or a Medal for Combat Service (the seller is one of the few who sells soviet medals here in Caracas and she sadly doesn't know anything about them and sell them for the same price)... So what do you guys recommend? If the medallion is OK I could change the suspension... Or I could change if from of the above (which I believe are a bit less rare). Also there's a wonderful Order of the Red Star SN 2705190 without it's document for the wonderful price of US$ 400  which I obviously won't pay... Anyways, what do think guys? |

Re: Fake "Capture of" Campaign Medals
Don't get wrapped up about the suspension. It's not original, but it certainly isn't false either. Even if this once came with a two-piece suspension, those often rust and break. It can sometimes be asking a lot for that to survive the six plus decades.
I'm not convinced your medal is fake, but I've only got four or five Budapests around the house. |

Re: Fake "Capture of" Koenigsberg
Hello everybody,
First of all, I want to thank Lapa for his advice, I managed to get that Budapest medal. Now I own a real one. Meanwhile, I have purchased this Capture of Koenigsberg medal with document. I have no background on documents, I must admit, and the few I have look all different from each other... Please have a look, I will appreciate your opinions, precious as always. regards. P.S. what about increasing a bit the maximum file size for posting pictures? It is very difficult to keep enough details and an acceptable picture size within 50k... Re: Capture of Berlin var2
Hello.
I have just now received this Capture of Berlin Variant 2, with document dated 1947. The document seems suspicious since there is no stamp. I will show it in the dedicated forum. I wonder if at least the medal is good. Looking forward to receive your opinions cheers sergio |

Re: Fake "Capture of" Campaign Medals
I am really happy to hear that! Thank you Lapa for your time.
In the meantime, Christophe manage to confirm that the stamp is still there by manipulating the scan with a photo editor. He was able to show it is just faded away! ciao sergio |
