Russia's Presidential Emblem.

Just discovered what looks like a russian order, and is in fact the insignia of presidential authority : the Russia Presidential Emblem.

It consists of the Emblem itself and its chain.
The gold Emblem bears a cross with four equal arms that widen at the ends. The front of the cross is coated with ruby enamel and the distance between the ends of its arms is 60 millimeters. The cross is trimmed with a narrow raised welt. The State Seal is superimposed on the center of the cross. In the center of the reverse side there is a round medallion.

Has anyone more information on this ?

Do you have seen Vladimir Putin wearing it ?

Thanks.

Ch.

I have seen Mikhail Kalashnikov wearing it with a red neck ribbon.
BTW, is he still alive?

Hi Esteban,

What wears Mikhail Kalashnikov is the Russian Federation Order for Merit for the Country.
Look at the attached pictures, even if the two orders are very close, they are not totally similar.
But, good point : the Presidential Emblem seems to be the highest highest grade of the order.
