General's ruberized coat - modern, fake or legit?

I came across this one lately - It's artillery major-general coat. Looks exactly like standard summer coat at first glance, but after a loce examination it turns out to be ruberized cloth, the same as used in officers' rain capes. I could accept the fact, that generals had such stuff (altough I don't remember ever hearing of them), but few things make me suspicious:
1.that "net" at the top of the inside makes me think of very modern products - not something I would expect on soviet clothes.
2.It can be post-1991, but than I would expect it to have 6-sided boards, not 4-sided.
3.It could be very late soviet, but then shouldn't it have collar tabs as well?
4.The lack of the collar tabs could indicate a field use, but shoulderboards are definately everyday, not field, and also there's no space forthe shoulder strap under the board (tough that regulation was rarely followed from what I observed), which may indicate that the only use for this coat would be walking-out/outof formation everyday.
On the other hand - the boards seem to be professionally sewn to the coat.
Unfortunately, I don't have my 1988 reg book at hand and cannot access the the website where it's published.
Any thoughts?

Re: General's ruberized coat - modern, fake or legit?

Perhaps a post-91 coat with pre-91 epaulets?
As for being professionally sewn, a few years back I got a big box of uniforms from Latvia which had some very creative, but nicely done, matching of epaulets to uniforms. I wish I had kept some photos of the ones where navy sleeve stars were sewn to officer's epaulets to make ersatz general boards.

Could be. If it turns out to be put-togeather, I will at least have use for the boards.

The net looks very similar to interior materials of present day sportswear. In combination to those shoulder boards - I am in doubt to the combination, although the coat itself looks OK.

Re: General's ruberized coat - modern, fake or legit?

I have been finally succesfull in accessing the website with uniform regs, and have found this one:
http://vedomstva-uniforma.ru/forma1988/ris3.jpg
It seems to be first mentioned in this reg (1988)
This kind of coat is called "plashch marshalov i generalov". Looks more or less the same as mine (only boards differ) and it could be rubberized. Not sure how to translate word "plashch", as my little pl-rus dictionary gives only "płaszcz" (which is bull***t), but judging from the fact that the only military stuff called so that I know of is "plashch-palatka" (for EM&NCO) and "plashch-nakidka" (for officers and professional NCO) I would guess that a good translation would be raincoat, and since "plashch-nakidka" was ruberized, this one could also be.
Still there's the problem with the net - if not for that, I would say that this coat is authentic, altough has the wrong boards (they seem original - it's much easier to sew boards to a cloth jacket than to a rubberized coat which causes some technical problems). So, if anyone is in piossesion of such raincoat, I would be glad to see pics for comparison. If there was no net in the others, it means that this one is post-91.
