Marc
I'm sorry, but there seems to be some misunderstanding.
Rather than sarcasm I was hoping for something along the lines of reference to regulations?

Besides the sarcasm ,,

I would dare anyone to find 101 differences.

My question was solely intent to confirm or resolve my worries about this cap.
It is by the looks of the pictures made up of the same elements colors and materials. the shape and badges are correct ones for a later time.
The thing that worries me most is the inside.

Ser-g,

A cap is a whole. You cannot take what you like and leave what you don't like. Show me a GENUINE Soviet-made cap with this type of interior, to start with. Then we can talk about craftmanship, spare pares and the like...

Re: Railway visor cap - worker's fantasy or regulation?

Genuine is a quite subjective term in this parts of collecting.

I for one find all caps made to be used by the soviets as genuine.
I narrow this down to a period of 1969-1992.
I tent to see the cap separate from the add-on's like badge and cord, for they can be replaced easily.

I have no assumption i know it all, but tent to think i know a bit.
This bit i use to help people where i can and educate my self further.
This educating i do for a part through this forum, on which there can be found people that are more knowledgeable.

So i dare any who can educate me and others to respond and give us the why and how. Just so i can be collecting and knowing more about it.

Re: Railway visor cap - worker's fantasy or regulation?

Ser-g, this was your first post regarding the cap:

Quote:
I have never seen such a cap before, the crown color strikes me as just weird.
In reply to your description of the color as "weird", I responded as follows:

Quote:
I can't give an opinion on this particular cap, but the golden yellow tops were worn by the individual in command of signals at a railway station.
Beyond that I will now bow out of this thread. I participate in forums with the hope of expanding my own, often limited, knowledge and, if at all possible, in helping other to expand their knowledge through what I might be able to share. I'm really not interested in responding to dares, sarcasm, or challenges.

Only to trigger anyone who has information to explain and elaborate so i / we can learn from it.

Re: Railway visor cap - worker's fantasy or regulation?

Looking at the inside of the cap - it might be post-91 manufacture, possibly from UA. Other - but less likely - explanation is that it was a private purchese - made by artisan during the Soviet era - those were not common, but not unheard of.
Maybe I am naive, but I don't think any Soviet railway cap is faked nowadays - there simply isn't enough interest in them.
