Tool for making stamps ?

Hello,

what do you think about this round medal?

It is not magnetic, it looks like it is made out of cast iron.
The diametre is 5 cm and thickness is 5 mm.

Could this be a tool for making rubber stamps?

best regards
Andreas

Re: Tool for making stamps ?

Could be. See if you can make a stamp out if it with wax or the euro version of silly putty.

Andreas,

Master dies would always be single sided, not double sided.

Re: Tool for making stamps ?

Thanks for the answers.

Sounds plasible Marc, that a die is only single sided.

So, it seems to be a table medal, a souvenir or something like that.
But the structure of engraving is very fine and detailed. A lot of work.

Could it be a kind of police seal?

Christophe,

Not Master dies, which are always showing the positive side. The reversed dies are the working (or striking) dies.
