Guys,

I am usualy suspicious about everything, but I don't think this document is a fake - signature and hand writing look genuine, ink looks OK, at least to me.

New scans

Tried to enhance the writing a bit - not sure it helps.

Fake Capture of Belgrade Document

Note

1. Cheesy manganese wash to "age" the document.

2. High document serial number.

3. The date has 19__.

4. The forger sexed it up with a "NKVD" awarding authority.

This is a GENUINE document for catch-up awards, however forger stripped it of any value except educational when he put a 1945 date on it. Buyer beware!

Hi,

when (in which years) were award documents for the Belgrade - medals given to the recipients ? I`m just asking, because of the conflict between the USSR and Tito`s Yugoslawia ?

Thank you,

Jens*

The documents were awarded up until that conflict and supposedly after the argument, recipients could exchange the medal for a Combat Service Medal.

The Belgrade document and medal were eventually reissued later since documents and medals exist of the 1985 commemorative type (as this type is before someone got his grimy mitts on it and ruined it).
