In the time of breaking the German defence on the Frische-Nehrung Spit (Vistula Spit) on the approach to the town and port of Pillau Comrade Radchenko was located at the observation point of the commander of the section, constantly in infantry battle formations, under heavy enemy artillery-mortar and rifle-machinegun fire, kept uninterrupted communication with the commanders of the batteries.
22nd April 1945, while pursuing, the enemy undertook a counter-attack leading with heavy artillery-mortar fire. Blasts from enemy shells cut the telephone line. Comrade Radchenko making his way through gaps in enemy shells, quickly eliminating 10 breaks in telephone lines, thereby providing uninterrupted management of the fire of the section, thanks to that the enemy attack was repulsed with large loses to him, supporting a rifle battalion mastering the inhabited point - "Children's Resort".
24th April 1945 in the very midst of battle, Comrade Radchenko, risking his life, under enemy fire eliminated 4 breaks in telephone lines, that provided uninterrupted management of fire of the section.
