Is it just me or does anyone else noticed difference in dies for Red Banner #3 from RB #1, #2 & #4?

Take a look at the attached pics. For RB non-#3 groups of lines inside of each ray go all the way to touching the edge, while in RB #3 lines seem to end before intersecting with the edge of the ray.

This difference can be seen from the front as well as from the reverse of the rays.

Is this new variation?

Any idea why the die was made so different for RB #3?

Here differences are circled out.

Is this a scaling effect: the short rays under the name of the Republic on the center medallion are different length?

No, those are the same, it's just different angle.

You are right, there are differences. I have seen quite a few of them, and there are also minor difference in the State emblem. I wish I made scans :(

You still have some for sale on your web site :)

Also, the shield with number "3" is quite different:

- shape,
- thickness of the border.

Can forum members who have #3 in their collections verify the differences in die for #3?

Just the one arm with enamel damage? That's not too bad.
I could certainly live with that as the Combat Red Banner is something I'd really like to add (after a Kahlkin Gol badge).

I know these are not researchable as yet but would anyone have come across any info relating to issue of Mongolian order of Red Banner for Military Valor, serial number 44 ? Any info much appreciated.
