Re: "Military Merit Red Banner" Order.
Bob,
It was. I was thinking about buying it myself but deliberated way too long. :( Will |

Three Red Banners of Combat..
Here's my trio..not sure if I'll ever find a #4--or be able to afford it when it does turn up! Mongolian orders are really a work of art, I love them.
These aren't a set; the first one was awarded to a Private who was a veteran hero of the Khalkin Gol war. Unfortunately, no info on #2 and #3. Cheers, George |

Re: "Military Merit Red Banner" Order.
Could very well be that #2 and #3 were never awarded.

Re: "Military Merit Red Banner" Order.
I agree, it's likely that this #3 was never awarded. I tend to think that this #2 was awarded, but we need more documentation / info out of UB.
According to Urnuh's book, highest observed RB-2 is #398 and the highest observed RB-3 is #200. Cheers, George |

Re: "Military Merit Red Banner" Order.
Time will tell. These "observations" don't always help with highest or lowest awarded or gaps in awards (such as the giant gap in Red Star production numbers). Not always so black and white unfortunately. Keep us updated!
The more information we can present and digest the better for all of us.

Re: "Military Merit Red Banner" Order.
#4 arrives! Not in a perfect condition, but likely I can now stop with this type. :)
This one definitely was unissued, likely from the Mongolia "bank vault sale" of 20 years ago. |
